Galbi: Korea’s Famous Short Ribs!

There’s a certain smell that tends to draw people into a Korean diner or food stand. If you’re ever passing by our Bellevue Korean restaurant and you’re intercepted by a sweet, meaty aroma that jumps down your nose and dances upon your tongue, come on in and ask for galbi. There’s a good chance that it’s exactly what you were looking for.

Galbi (alternatively “kalbi”) literally translates to “ribs”, describing the kind of meat that it is made from. It comes in many different varieties and is served in many different forms, but is generally characteristic of a savory marinade made from soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, sugar and garlic. Not only is this preparation famously delicious, it’s grilled in such a way as to be relatively low in fat for a red meat dish.

At Seoul Hot Pot, you can enjoy galbi by itself or in a soup. Come and give it a try today!
